BBNaija winner Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has issued a fiery public response to the Dangote Group following the company’s official statement on the accident that led to her sister’s severe injury and amputation.
The reality TV star’s outrage comes days after a Dangote truck, allegedly driven by an underage driver, rammed into a motorcycle carrying her sister, Ruth, just six days after she graduated from Auchi Polytechnic.
The devastating crash left Ruth with her leg amputated from the pelvic region, while the motorcycle rider is reportedly battling for his life in critical condition.
In the wake of the public outcry and social media calls for justice, the Dangote Group released a statement confirming that its representatives had visited Ruth in the hospital, offered “appropriate compensation,” and wished her a “speedy recovery.”
However, the statement, accompanied by photos of company representatives with a man identified as Ruth’s “husband”, infuriated Phyna. Taking to social media, she accused the conglomerate of insensitivity, image manipulation, and disrespect towards her family.
Phyna questioned the logic behind wishing “speedy recovery” to someone whose leg had been amputated, writing:
“Appropriate compensation!!! Quick recovery from an already amputated leg? What necessary speed are you taking right now? Let’s not forget the bike man who is also in a very critical condition.”

She also lambasted the company for sharing pictures of her family without consent, warning against any further use of cameras during future visits or meetings.
“Who gave you permission to snap any member of my family and post it online? What disrespect. You send staff members to the hospital and decide to turn it into content? … And what do you mean by Mrs Ruth Otabor — what narrative are you about to start? Una dey play with me?”

The incident has sparked heated conversations online, with many Nigerians demanding justice and accountability from the Dangote Group. Critics argue that the company’s statement failed to address critical safety concerns, including the allegation that the truck driver was underage.
