Police respond as viral Iyabo Ojo ‘Wanted’ poster offering reward circulates

Iyabo Ojo, Wanted poster, Police

A viral “wanted” poster circulating online claiming that Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Iyabo Ojo was wanted by the authorities has been officially dismissed by the Nigeria Police Force.

The poster, which offered a reward for information leading to her arrest, sparked confusion and concern among social media users.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page on Thursday morning, the Force clarified that the poster is completely fake and misleading.

The Nigeria Police Force emphasized that the poster did not originate from any verified police platform and has no connection with official law enforcement operations.

The statement read in part: “FAKE NEWS ALERT! This ‘WANTED’ poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading & was never posted on any official NPF platform. Disregard & stop spreading fake news. Verify only from official NPF channels.”

The Force also warned the public against circulating the poster further, highlighting the dangers of sharing misinformation, which could lead to public panic or reputational damage.

Citizens were urged to confirm updates exclusively through verified channels of the Nigeria Police Force to avoid falling prey to misleading content.

This development comes amid ongoing legal disputes involving Iyabo Ojo, Naira Marley, and Sam Larry, a case championed online by activist Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman.

While some speculated that the poster was linked to these ongoing proceedings, authorities have made it clear that no such arrest notice exists, and any claims suggesting otherwise are baseless.

This is coming after VDM revealed new claims surrounding the ongoing controversies tied to the late singer Mohbad and allegations against Naira Marley and Sam Larry.

In a viral video, Verydarkman responded to renewed speculations suggesting he had been financially compromised by Marley’s camp to shift public narrative. He insisted that his involvement stemmed from his encounter with the parties at a police facility during a separate visit.
