A former senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce has reacted to the latest fuel increase announcement made by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).
Bruce said “Nigerians shouldn’t be paying more for fuel at this time, amid low minimum wages and other oppressive economic factors.”
He said the increase is a government system that believes in suffering the masses.
The 65-year old stated this via his official verified twitter handle @benmurraybruce
His tweet read: “I still will not understand a system that believes in suffering for the masses as a government policy.
“Someone, please educate me. Nigerians shouldn’t be paying more for fuel at this time, amid low minimum wages and other oppressive economic factors.”
Recall that PPPRA has announced an increase in fuel price, fixing the lower band of the new fuel price at N209.61 per litre and upper band N212.61 per litre.
PPPRA stated that the increment was due to the market determinants and importation costs.
However, the NNPC countered the announcement, insisting that there is no increase in fuel price in March.
