Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has reportedly returned to Nigeria after ‘spending six months in the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE).

Recall that the first Lady was rumoured to be out of the country and her absence from social gatherings was observed.

There were concerns over her whereabouts during the long absence but the presidency avoided making comments on the issues.

It was alleged in some quarters that she left because of insecurity in the nation, while others alleged that she travelled to Dubai for medical treatment.

While Mrs Buhari reportedly made her last known public appearance in September 2020 during the wedding of her daughter, Hanan.

Since then, she has conspicuously not been involved in any government engagements.

She also stopped posting on social media.

However, one of her aides, Kabiru Dodo, faulted the report that the first lady left the country because of rising insecurity.

Meanwhile, sources in the Presidential Villa said that the First Lady returned on Thursday morning.

The First Lady of Nigeria, who recently spoke during International Women’s Day, is said to be at the Presidential Villa in Abuja now.
