Dr Igbiks Tamuno, the Honorable Commissioner for Environment in Rivers state has been sacked by Governor Nyesom Wike.

As at the time of filing this report, the reason why Governor Wike sacked his aide, Tamuno is still unclear.

According to The Nation, the commissioner was holding a press briefing at his ministry when he got wind of the development.

He has been directed to submit government’s documents and property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary in the ministry.

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that teachers from Primary and Secondary Schools in the Rivers State University, the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, and the Ken Saro–Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori are currently protesting the non-payment of their salaries running into five years.

The teachers who wondered how the state government led by governor Nyesom Wike that has not paid them their salaries for almost five years would give N500 million to the Sokoto state government over a burnt market.

The protesting teachers alleged that they have lost about ten of their colleagues due to the hardship experienced as a result of the unpaid salaries.
