Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho was on target twice for Leicester City in their 3-2 Premier League defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium.

The 24-year-old has now scored six goals in his last five EPL games for the Foxes while his tally in all competitions so far stands at 14 goals and five assists.

Iheanacho grabbed his first goal of the game in the 70th minute through a stunning shot from the edge of the 18-yard box.

The Super Eagles star was initially backing the danger zone until he got the ball, made a turn, and fired home without minding the direction of the ball.

His first goal was assisted by Ricardo Pereira who intercepted the ball from Arthur Masuaku and then sent it to his teammate who then took no chances before converting the chance.

The Nigerian striker doubled his tally from close range in the 90+1 minute after another defensive error from the hosts.

Iheanacho smashed the ball into the back of the net from close range in the 90+1 minute after Marc Albrighton’s cross from the right flank evaded six West Ham players in the box.

Having seen his teammate running down the flanks with the possibility of crossing the ball, the Nigerian also ran into space and he benefitted from the move – though they still lost the game because a brace from Jesse Lingard (29th, 44th minutes) and a solitary strike from Jarrod Bowen (48th minute) saw West Ham race to a earlier 3-0 advantage.

The development saw West Ham moving up to fourth place on 55 points usurping Chelsea while Leicester are third on 56 points in the league table.
