The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle has stated that security operatives in the state have neutralized a gang of bandits and recovered 300 cattle from them.
According to Matawalle, the bandits had rustled a herd of over 300 cattle at Kuraje near Rijiyar Tsakar Dawa in Gusau LGA.
In a series of tweets on Sunday accompanied by pictures showing recovered cattle, the governor said a team of security operatives led by the state commissioner for security and internal affairs carried out the recovery operation.
He said that the recovered cattle have been returned to the owners, while assuring residents of the commit0ment of his administration to restore peace in the state.
Zamfara is among the states in the northern part of the country worst-hit by the activities of bandits.
“Foiled Banditry: A moment ago, I was informed about an operational success recorded by the Hon. commissioner for security & internal affairs,” the governor said.
“He led a team of security forces on a joint patrol and neutralised a gang of bandits, who rustled a herd of over 300 cattle at Kuraje near Rijiyar Tsakar Dawa in Gusau LG.
“After accomplishing the mission, the rustled cattle have been recovered for immediate return to their rightful owners.”
