Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has warned attackers of INEC facilities and those who are hellbent on destroying the country, saying they will soon have the shock of their lives”.
According to President Buhari, the sponsors and orchestrators of insecurity in the country are doing so because they want his administration to fail.
This caution was made by the president on Tuesday after he received a briefing from Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has disclosed that 41 of its offices have been attacked in 14 states since 2019.
Mahmood disclosed this at the emergency meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday May 27.
