AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd), the Senior Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Security, has been reportedly killed by some unknown gunmen in Jos, Plateau State Capital.

Jega was said to have been shot in the chest several times by the gunmen on Tuesday, June 1.

AIG Dega had a brilliant career in the Nigerian Police Force and was twice Commissioner of Police in Borno and Edo States.

He hailed from Katsina-Ala local government area in Benue state .

In other news, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has vowed to avenge the death of any Biafran killed by Nigerian security agencies in the South-East.

Kanu, who stated this in a Facebook post on Tuesday, said IPOB was now ready to take Biafra by force since the Federal Government has refused to conduct a referendum that will enable them get their desired republic.
