Governor Samuel Ortom has directed the Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority, BENSESA to postpone this month’s sanitation exercise scheduled on Saturday, 26th June 2021 in Makurdi and Gboko.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday released the results of candidates who sat for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Media and Information, who made this known on Friday said results will be updated for subsequent days and released daily for those yet to see theirs.

He further revealed that some results were withheld for investigation, adding that the Board would still review all the CCTV footage and other technical gadgets for detection of possible examination misconducts.

Reacting, the Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase on Friday said the decision was necessary to enable candidates for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, who had technical issues in the last examination and are to sit for it again on Saturday get to their designated centres without delay.

”Consequently, there will be free movement of people in Makurdi and Gboko within the stipulated time for sanitation.

”Governor Ortom, however, enjoins those living in other towns of the state to comply with the restriction of movement between the hours of 7 am and 9 am and to also keep their surroundings clean,” the statement said.
