A yet to be identified student of the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was shot dead during a protest on Monday, June 28.
WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the deceased had joined his colleagues, who were protesting hike in tuition fees, when security operatives made an attempt to disperse them forcefully.
Speaking with Daily Trust, one of the protesters, who preferred anonymity, said they came out to protest over the increase of school fees in the state-owned institution when they met security operatives outside the college.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalike, told newsmen that he will find out and revert.
