More details of the attack on the residence of Sunday Adeyemo, a Yoruba secessionist popularly known as Sunday Igboho, by gunmen has emerged.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the residence, located at Soka area in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State was allegedly invaded around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

According to a report by Daily Post, some close associates of Sunday Igboho claimed that the house was invaded by security agents, a claim some security agents who spoke with newsmen dismissed.

The security agents noted that the alleged invasion may be a plot by Igboho to gain public sympathy.

However, sources close to Sunday Igboho, who spoke with journalists on Thursday, insisted that security agents invaded the residence.

One of the occupants of the house, who identified himself as Mr. Johnson, said that he hid somewhere in the house while the operation lasted.

He alleged that some people were killed.

“They came with many Hilux vehicles. They were in military uniform. Some have inscriptions of DSS.

“They were asking people where is Chief. They killed some people. There is one Alfa who was in the house, he was observing Nafilah, they killed him as he was observing the Nafilah,” he said.

Convener, Igangan Development Advocate, Mr. Oladiran Oladokun, also confirmed the attack to newsmen on Thursday.

Oladokun, who was one of the early callers at the Igboho residence on Thursday, decried the attack.

Efforts made to get reactions of the Spokesmen of the Oyo State Police command, Mr. Adewale Osifeso and that of 2 Division Nigerian Army, Odogbo Ibadan, Major I.O. Iweha proved to be abortive.

Several calls put through to Mr. Osifeso’s mobile phone were not answered, while messages sent to him are yet to be replied as at the time of filing this report on Thursday.

Iweha told newsmen that he has not seen the evidence that the invasion was carried out by security agents.

The Army spokesman has not replied to the video and the messages sent to him as at the time of filing this report.

It remains unclear who the perpetrators of the raid are.
