Senators from Kwara State on Wednesday declared their total support for Governor Abdurahman Abdulrazaq, describing him as the authentic leader of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The senators, Ibrahim Oloriegbe (Kwara Central), Lola Ashiru (Kwara South) and Umar Sadiq (Kwara North), stated this while addressing journalists in Abuja.

They clarified that all the money realised by the APC in the state to prosecute the 2019 elections were judiciously utilised under the leadership of the governor.

The senators said the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was not speaking the minds of the party members when he said Kwara State, under the current administration, had “entered one-chance.”

The lawmakers also explained that the revalidation of membership registration would soon start to enable those who had yet to register to do so before the state party’s congress.

Meanwhile, Lai Mohammed may face disciplinary action from the Kwara State chapter of the party very soon. Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Samari Abubakar dropped the hint while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman said the party faithful were scandalised over comments attributed to the Minister of Information that the present administration in the state had failed the people.

Asked whether the minister will be suspended or expelled from the APC, the Kwara party Chairman said: “Well, there are guidelines… If the offense is commensurate to suspending him, or any other, definitely the rule of the party is going to apply because nobody is too big to be sanctioned. We want to have sanity in the party.”

The sanction, Samari said will take place “very soon.”
