Enemies want IPOB to attack me – Anambra businessman, Ezukwo cries out

Moses Ezukwo, the first Vice President of Anambra’s Nnewi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NNCIMA), claims that his adversaries are attempting to have the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) attack him.

According to the businessman, the self-determination group’s sit-at-home call cost the zone more than N50 billion.

Ezukwo was also quoted as noting that the loss in the private sector was more than 60%.

On Tuesday, he recalled disputing the report when it first emerged in a newspaper a fortnight ago, claiming that he never spoke to any journalist about it.

Ezukwu pointed out that leaders and groups already made their position on the issue known and wondered why some people continue to drag his name into the sit-at-home since called off.

“I was alleged to have said the South-East recorded over N50 billion loss due to Monday-Monday sit-at-home order of IPOB. I never made such remarks; I even made this clear over two weeks ago when it first appeared in the media.

“I am an executive member of Nnewi chamber of commerce but I never spoke to any journalist on this issue. I don’t know why this thing is being attributed to me.”

Ezukwo appealed to the media organisations and the public to dismiss any such statements attributed to him by those who want to pitch him against IPOB.

Recall that the Chairman, South-East Governors Forum and Ebonyi Governor, David Umahi had said the South-East loses N10 billion on the observance of any sit-at-home.

Charles Soludo, ex-Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Anambra had also said the state alone loses N19.6 billion any day a lock down is observed.
