Suspected mentally-deranged man kills wife, six-year-old son in Ebonyi

Operatives of the of Ebonyi State Police Command have arrested a suspected mentally-ill man, Kenneth Nwoha, for allegedly killing his wife, Mercy, and six-year-old son, Simpson, at Isiofumini village, Ishieke community area of the state

It was gathered the suspect also attacked six other persons shortly after killing his wife and son on Wednesday.

The suspect became mentally unstable after waking up that morning, as he allegedly attacked and dismembered his wife.

According to PUNCH, an eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Six other victims, including a seven-year-old boy and a 60-year-old man, were attacked by the man on the street before the police arrested him.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Loveth Odah, who confirmed the incident said, “He is currently undergoing a medical check-up to ascertain whether he is actually mentally-deranged.

“The six victims who were critically attacked are receiving treatment at a hospital, while the remains of the slain have been deposited in a mortuary.”
