Gunmen believed to be gang members of the late infamous criminal Terwase Akwaza, also known as Gana, have assaulted a Taraba State village.

This was observed during a recent attack on the Rafinkada village in the state’s Wukari council.

The incident, which occurred early this week, not only resulted in the murder of one individual on his farm, but it also heightened tensions in the area, particularly in the state’s southern region.

Sad noted that before arriving at the community, the hoodlums had fled the scene.

He identified the victim as Tsunatu Danjuma and assured the people that the leadership of the council will make sure the attackers are brought to book.

He urged fleeing residents of the community to return as relevant security apparatus, according to him, have been put in place to prevent further attacks.

He admitted that the militiamen are suspected to be the “remnants of Gana boys, who launched the attacks and retreated to surrounding forests.

According to a report by Daily Post, the gunmen are the gang members of Gana who before he was killed last year by security operatives in Benue State.

When contacted for comment, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Usman, denied knowledge of the incident, stating that the report is yet to be brought to his knowledge.
