On Saturday, three people were killed in a deadly car accident near Otte town on the Ilorin-Ogbomoso expressway.

Several other people were hurt in the deadly car accident.

Otte town is located a few kilometers from Ilorin, the state capital of Kwara.

According to eyewitnesses, the two cars involved in the disaster, a pepper-laden Mistibushi truck and a black Toyota Corolla private car, collided head-on.

Excessive speed, according to accident sources, was the cause of the collision.

The three victims reportedly died on the spot.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the car was coming from Ilorin, while the pepper laden vehicle was heading in the opposite direction.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Jonathan Owoade, confirmed the accident when contacted on phone on Saturday.

He said three persons died, while others sustained fractures and head injuries.

Owoade said the injured victims were taken to the state General Hospital, in Ilorin, while the corpses have been deposited at the morgue.
