EFCC reacts to photo of Obi Cubana with alleged staff

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to a trending photograph involving billionaire businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana.

The trending photo shows Obi Cubana and alleged EFCC staff members posing in a selfie picture.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the socialite was released by EFCC on Thursday after spending days  in detention for alleged money laundering.

The Anambra-born club owner was arrested on Monday was interrogated by operatives of the commission.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Friday said the individuals are not the agency’s staff.

The anti-graft agency advised the public “not to be misled by another mischievous stunt by Cubana’s publicists.”

Obi Cubana was grilled for alleged money laundering, tax fraud and investigations are still ongoing.
