The Office of Head of Service in Osun state has dismissed any connection to a statement titled ‘Oyetola lifted embargo on annual increment and nominal promotions in Osun’.

The dismissal was contained in a statement signed and released by the Head of Service of Osun state government, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade.

According to the head of service, the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has continued to pay the salaries and allowances of all categories of workers in the State based on the approved Minimum Wage since 2020.

Oyebade said it was noteworthy that at a time when some states are struggling to effect minimum wage for their workers, Osun has continued to fulfill its obligations in spite of daunting financial difficulties.

“We enjoin the  public to note that government has not defaulted in the regular and prompt payment of full salaries and allowances of all workers despite the acute financial challenges confronting the State and the fact that some other States are backing-off from the implementation of the Minimum Wage for their workers”, he said.

Describing the circular as the handiwork of mischievous people who are bent on misleading members of the public, Oyebade called on citizens to disregard the unauthorised document and the information contained therein.
