The Yobe State Protocol officer, Ali Shehu Mai Lalle, has been released by Boko Haram insurgents after close to four months in their captivity.
A source which confided in The Nation said: “Our man Mai Lale is now safe in the hands of his family”.
The source also disclosed that Mailale was released with his friend, Mustapha, with whom he was abducted on Maiduguri/Damaturu road on July 24, 2021.
There are unconfirmed reports that a heavy ransom was paid to secure the duo’s freedom but no family member, friends or associates was willing to talk about this.
Recall that Mai Lalle and Mustapha were abducted with two soldiers, who were executed two days after.
