Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked as Manchester United head coach early today, has sent a clear message to his successor at Old Trafford.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Solskjaer was sacked as Man United manager on Sunday morning after an “embarrassing” 4-1 defeat at Watford in a Premier League tie on Saturday.

After Solskjaer’s sack, Man United appointed Michael Carrick to temporarily take charge of the team for forthcoming games, as they continue searching for a new manager to coach the club.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino, Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane have been linked to replace Solskjaer.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Solskjaer wished his successor a successful spell at Man United, adding that he has laid a good foundation for him to be a success at Old Trafford.

“I want him to be successful,” Solskjaer said of his successor.

“Hopefully, I’ve laid the foundations for that to happen because I know I’m good at what I’m doing.

“I don’t want to pre-empt anything but the two times I have left Molde, they have won the league the year after, so all the best to whoever takes over – that’s the expectations.

“I know the foundation is there, I know they are ready to kick on and I am sure they will.”
