The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has declared a scheduled power outage in Imo from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4.

This is stated in a press statement signed by Mr. Emeka Ezeh, EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, and made accessible to journalists in Owerri on Thursday.

Ezeh stated that the interruption on the Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 1 was necessary to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s technical personnel to repair to a line problem on one of the towers.

He further stated that, as an added precaution for the engineers’ safety, the Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 2 will be shut down throughout the exercise.

“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC, (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Imo State of a planned outage on Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 1, scheduled to hold on Saturday 4th December 2021 from 9am to 11am.

“The outage will affect supply to Egbu Transmission Station and all the 33KV feeders, namely Mbaise, Okigwe, Alex, Airport, Owerri, Orlu, New Oguta, and Oguta, feeding Owerri and New Owerri districts.

“Consequently, our customers in Imo (except parts of Orlu and Mbaise that receive supply from Anambra and Umuahia respectively) will be out of electricity supply during the period of the maintenance.

“We regret the inconveniences this will cause our esteemed customers and assure them that supply will be restored as soon as the TCN team completes the maintenance,” he said.

Herestated EEDC’s commitment to improved service delivery to her customers.
