Nigeria has recorded three more cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.
This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its update for Tuesday, December 7.
According to a statement by Ifedayo Adetifa, NCDC director-general, the new cases were detected in individuals with recent travel history to South Africa.
Nigeria’s high commissioner to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Isola has described the travel restrictions imposed on the country as ‘apartheid’.
A number of countries in Europe banned travel from countries in Africa following the discovery of the Omicron COVID-19 variant by South Africa.
