Police in Kaduna state has stated that 16 persons abducted along the Birnin Gwari road in the state have been rescued.

The development was confirmed on Monday via a statement released by police public relations officer in the state, Mohammed Jalige.

Jalige said the command received information from the divisional police officer (DPO) in Buruku that some persons suspected to be victims of kidnapping were seen around Masallaci area in Birnin Gwari.

According to him, the success recorded in rescuing the victims was achieved due to the support and vigilance of residents in the community.
