Oyo monarch, Oloko of Oko is dead

A popular monarch in Oyo state, Oba Gabriel Adepoju, has joined his ancestors.

The monarch, who was until his death the Oloko of Oko Ile, joined the ancestors on Sunday.

Oko Ile is one of the towns in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

The monarch joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 85.

The monarch, it was gathered ascended the throne in 1997.

Recall that no fewer than three prominent monarchs in Oyo state had died in the last six weeks.

The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi died on 12th December 2021 at the age of 95.

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji died on January 2nd 2022 at the age of 93.

Asiganga of Igangan in Ibarapa geopolitical zone also died within the period under review.
