When contacted on the telephone, the Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar said the measures are aimed at curtailing the activities of bandits from the affected communities.

“We have intelligence reports about some suspicious movement that We have been monitoring and we are spreading our dragnet in the affected communities,” he said.

Umar said the move is to avoid being taken off guard by the bandits attacking some communities in recent weeks.

The Commissioner appealed to the affected communities to cooperate with security agencies as they do everything humanly possible to restore peace to the area.

“This administration will not relent until all displaced persons return safely back to their ancestral homestead,” he added.
