Notorious Delta armed robber, Getay killed during shootout with police

Getay, a notorious armed robber, who has been on the wanted list of the Delta State Police Command, is dead.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that he died after sustaining injuries during a gun battle between his gang and the police.

Getay died at a hospital he was taken to for treatment.

The police recovered one cut-to-size double barrel gun, one live cartridge and two expended cartridges.

The command confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

The police image maker said, “In the ensuing gun duel, Getay who is the leader of the gang sustained gunshot injuries and was taken to the hospital where he gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.”

He noted that ”Investigation is ongoing.”
