Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has said that he pays poor mothers N5,000 per girl child they send to school.
Tambuwal stated this during an interview on TVC News, admitting that Sokoto state is one of the states that is backward in Western education.
The governor added that he made a law, making it compulsory for every child to be educated.
He also said that the conditional cash transfer of N5,000 has been working because these poor mothers rarely make such money.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Tambuwal declared his intentions to begin consultations across the country to contest for president in 2023.
