“They claimed he embarrassed the police by suing them and Ned Nwoko on my behalf,” he said.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported the arrest and detention of Sowore on Thursday 24th February in Abuja following a petition by a former House of Representatives member and businessman, Prince Ned Nwoko. He was later released in the night on Thursday.

Nwoko had petitioned the Nigeria Police Force against Sowore for criminal defamation, injurious falsehood publication of news known to be false contrary to section 391, 392, 393, 394, 395, and 418 of the Penal code of Northern Nigeria.
