Bandits have killed a kidnapped victim in their custody after collecting N1 million ransom from his family in Kaduna State.
According to Daily Trust, bandits had in February this year, invaded the home of the victim at Rigachikun in Igabi Local Government Area and abducted him with others in the area including a bride-to-be.
During the invasion, a customs officer who worked with Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B, Kaduna was shot and later died in the hospital.
In a new development, the abducted victim was said to have been killed after his relatives took the N1 million ransom to the bandits.
A lady in the area said; “They shot him after collecting the payment from the man that took the money to them. All the residents were in shock after hearing the news of his death,” Daily Trust reports.
The victim was buried at Unguwar Shanu community where his family resides. The bride-to-be and one other person are still with their captors.
