Nigeria coach, Austin Eguavoen has hinted Maduka Okoye could be available for the second leg of their 2022 World Cup playoff against Ghana.

Okoye was replaced in the Super Eagles’ squad by Enyimba’s John Noble on Tuesday.

This leaves Kaizer Chiefs’ Daniel Akpeyi to slug it out with Omonia Nicosia’s Francis Uzoho for the no. 1 spot.

Ahead of Friday’s game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Eguavoen gave an update on Okoye, who is down with flu.

“He (Okoye) has flu and will miss the first leg in Ghana.

“Should he recover in time, he could be involved in the return leg in Abuja,” Eguavoen said in a press conference.
