A suspected ritualist, Mubarak Lamu, has confessed to have killed 9 boys and buried them in different shallow graves in Mutumbiyu town, Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The 30-year-old suspected ritualist was arrested by police last week over the disappearance of a six-year-old boy.

Mubarak confessed to have killed the boy and buried him at River Dan Kuturu in Mutumbiyu town.

According to Daily Trust, locals said the suspect led a team of police detectives to the site and the body was exhumed.

They also said Mubarak confessed to have killed nine other boys and buried them at different sites for ritual purposes.

The youths in the community including relations of the victims were said to have been angered by Mubarak’s confession and attempted to burn down the house of the suspect’s father.

The youths, who were pacified by elders in the town, however, vowed to kill the suspect and burn his family house whenever he sets foot in the area.

The state police spokesperson, DSP Usman Abdullahi, said he was waiting for details on the issue from the Mutumbiyu Divisional Police Headquarters.
