Italian police have detained a 24-year-old Nigerian man for domestic assault against his Nigerian wife.
The unnamed Nigerian assaulted his wife and threw their one-year-old son from the floor of a Florence condo.
However, a police officer leapt and rescued the boy before he fell to the ground on Sunday night, according to authorities.

According to investigators, the Nigerian lady had been suffering in silence for several years.
She was once threatened by her husband with a knife to the throat, police said.
The woman and her two children, aged one and three, have been admitted for shock to a Florentine hospital.
They were otherwise unhurt.
