The Kwara Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has assured the Joint Matriculation and Examination Board (JAMB) of maximum security during its forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, (UTME).

The State Commandant, Makinde Ayinla, gave the assurance on Saturday in Ilorin, during the assessment of some selected JAMB CBT centres, for the ongoing UTME Mock examinations.

Speaking with newsmen, Mr Babawale Afolabi, Spokesman of the command, said the NSCDC decided to move around the centres to have an insight of the locations and plan ahead for the main examination.

“The state commandant deemed it fit that it is appropriate for the corps to use today’s UTME mock examination to plan ahead for the main examination.

“That is why we moved around selected JAMB CBT centres and fortunately, most of the candidates were at the centres for the mock examinations,” he said.

Afolabi said that the commandant assured JAMB, students, parents and the general public that the corps had put all security machinery in motion, in order to have a hitch-free examination.

Mrs Racheal Shittu, the JAMB Zonal Co-ordinator in Kwara, lauded the corps for their yearly maximum cooperation, adding that the board was also working round the clock in preparation for the examination.

Among the CBT centres visited by the NSCDC aside the JAMB Office included the Kwara Poly CBT centre, University of Ilorin CBT centre and Sobi CBT Centre.
