FIFA has announced that Scotland’s 2022 World Cup play-off semi-final at home to Ukraine will now be played on June 1.
The match was supposed to take place last month, but it had to be postponed owing to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The winner of Scotland against Ukraine will face Wales in Cardiff, according to FIFA.
The winner of that game on June 5 will qualify for the tournament in Qatar later this year.
The final winners will be in the same group with England, the USA and Iran.
In other news, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee for the appointment of Salisu Yusuf as the head coach of the Super Eagles B (otherwise known as CHAN Eagles) as well as the U-23 (Olympics) Team.
Yusuf, who guided Super Eagles B to emerge as runner-up of the African Nations Championship in Morocco in 2018, will work with Kennedy Boboye (Assistant Coach); Fatai Osho (Assistant Coach); Abubakar Bala Mohammed (Assistant Coach); Fidelis Ikechukwu (Assistant Coach); Eboboritse Uwejamomere (Match Analyst) and Ike Shorounmu (Goalkeepers’ Trainer) and Suleiman Shuaibu (Goalkeepers’ Trainer 2).
