Mechanic on test-drive kills two, injures one other in Aba

A mechanic on test-drive has reportedly killed a yet-to-be identified couple after he rammed into a commercial tricycle coming from the opposite direction on the Ngwa Road in Aba South Local Government Area of Abia State.

According to The Nation, a male passenger inside the commercial tricycle was said to have died on the spot, while the woman who was later identified as his wife died later.

Another passenger said to be unconscious was rushed to an undisclosed private hospital in the city centre.

The vehicle that collided with the commercial tricycle reportedly belong to one of the Pentecostal churches in Aba and was taken to the mechanic workshop for repairs.

The deceased have since been deposited in the morgue while the injured was still receiving medical attention at the time of filing this report.

The church bus and commercial tricycle had been evacuated from the area.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Geoffrey Ogbonna, said that the incident was yet to be reported to the police at the time of filing this report.
