Ekpenyong, was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, representing Akwa Ibom State’s Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Udung Uko/Urue Offong/Oruko Federal Constituency.

He was also the PDP’s state deputy chairman.

In other news, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission says some federal lawmakers have turned constituency projects into a conduit pipe for siphoning public funds.

The commission made this known in its ‘Constituency and Executive Projects Tracking Exercise Phase 3 Report’.

He disclosed that the lawmakers deployed ambiguous descriptions of constituency projects to convert the public property to private use.

According to the report, beneficiaries of certain projects were intentionally vaguely mentioned so as to make it easy for the lawmakers to corner the funds or equipment meant for the execution of such projects.
