The Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Movement has urged the party’s national leadership to continue to persuade crucial stakeholders at various state levels to provide particular consideration to youth vying for party tickets ahead of the party’s primaries.

The group praised the party’s leadership, stakeholders, and membership across the country, adding that having a cheap party nomination and expression of interest form was not enough for youngsters, but that it was vital for them to acquire tickets during the party’s primary.

In a statement jointly signed by National President of the group, Engr Salahudeen Lukman; National Secretary-General, Engr Chinedu Joshua; Zonal Vice President South-West, Pelebe Nelson; Zonal Vice President, South-East, Rev Chris Chukwuemeka and Zonal Vice President South-South, Comr Sheriff Ekwo.

Others who signed the joint statement are Zonal Vice President, North-West, Yusuf Musa; Zonal Vice President, North-East, Comr Jona Danladi; Zonal Vice President, North-Central, Engr Yakubu Yahaya and Chairman of Chairmen, Comr. Akanimo Ifiokobong.

According to the statement, “While commending the party leadership, stakeholders and faithful members across all levels, we humbly wish to push forward, that it is not enough for our generation as youth to have an affordable party nomination and expression of interest forms, it’s critical and essential young people secure Party tickets at the primaries.”

The group added, “Hence, our call on national leadership to further prevail on critical stakeholders at various state levels to give special consideration for youth who are jostling for party ticket as we commence primaries.”
