President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to remark on Deborah Samuel’s heinous murder in Sokoto State.

On Thursday, a 200-level student at Shehu Shagari College of Education was burned alive by her classmates.

She was charged with blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The voice note she sent to a WhatsApp group and the responses she received are currently trending.

The police verified receiving a complaint of a disturbance about 9 a.m. Two people have been apprehended as suspects.

President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and the Federal Government have yet to respond more than 24 hours after the event.

This is despite public statements from Buhari and Osinbajo’s spokespersons.

As of 1:30 p.m. on Friday, the presidency had made four comments, none of which addressed Deborah’s death.

The announcements talked of President Buhari bidding farewell to departing ministers and meeting with South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s envoy, Albino Mathom Ayuel.

Others include a review of Buhari’s recent visit to Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, and Osinbajo’s state-level talks with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nigerians on and off social media are outraged by the silence of the country’s leadership.

Earlier, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar deleted a Twitter post which condemned the lynching.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant claimed he didn’t authorize it.
