BREAKING: Bali wins PDP’s Plateau South senatorial ticket

Air Vice Marshal Napoleon Bali (rtd) has won the Plateau South Senatorial District ticket in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries for the 2023 election.

Bali, a former Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) HQ NAF, received 141 votes to defeat Hon. Johnbull Shekarau, a former House of Representatives member, who received 61 votes.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Bali would be contesting against Governor Simon Lalong who is the sole aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In other news, a former member of House of Representatives, Mr Ogoshi Onawo, has clinched the Peoples Democratic party’s ticket for Nasarawa South Senatorial District.

Onawo, a two-time speaker of Nasarawa State House Assembly and two-time member of House of Representatives, scored 88 votes to defeat a former Director-General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri, who scored 76 votes.

Announcing the result on Monday in Lafia, the Returning Officer, Mr Torngee Tor-Anyiin, said declared Onawo as the winner of the primary election, having scored the highest votes.
