Gunmen have killed a female Senior Secondary School 3 student of St. Monica Girls Secondary School, Otukpo, Benue State.
The victim, who was writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examinations was killed on Friday when she went to remove her clothes from where she hung them to dry.
The gunmen were said to have fled after killing the victim.
According to PUNCH, a source said; “The girl was a student of St. Monica Girls Secondary School, Otukpo, and lived with her parents on No 38, Idikwu Road.
“She had washed her clothes and spread them to dry; she just went outside to remove the clothes when two gunmen who scaled the fence shot her in the head,”
It was gathered that the incident happened in the presence of her younger sister, identified as Rosemary, who ran to their parlour to inform their father about what happened.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident said, “The death of the student is confirmed. It happened on Friday.”
