According to her, eight persons were involved, comprising two male adults and six female adults.

“Five persons were recorded dead (four female adults and one male adult), while three persons were injured (two female adults and one male adult),” Okpe said.

She explained that the injured victims were taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Abeokuta for medical attention, saying the corpses were also deposited at the same hospital.

“The suspected causes of the crash were excessive speed and dangerous driving on the part of the truck driver, who made a dangerous turning without observing the road and the Mazda driver who was on high speed ran into the truck,” Okpe disclosed.

The Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, warned against speed violations among motorists, while commiserating with the family of the crash victims.
