Sen. Ike Ekweremadu will meet with an influential delegation from the Nigerian Senate in London, United Kingdom, as it was announced on Tuesday.

Recalls that Ike Ekweremadu, who was the former Deputy Senate President, was detained alongside his wife over alleged “organ harvesting” in the United Kingdom.

The Senate made its decision after spending two hours on Wednesday in closed session.

Senator Ekweremadu’s and his wife’s defense attorneys, according to Senate President Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, are working assiduously to get them released from custody.

He mentioned that he had a meeting with the British High Commissioner, who gave him an update on the case’s status and specifics of what had happened.

Lawan added that the Senate delegation would include the members of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.

“The Senate delegation will include members of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs who shall travel out in two days time”, Lawan said.
