The leadership of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide has asked Nigerians to pray intensely for the country as a panacea to saving the nation from the precipice.

Unless this is done, the future may be clogged with greater challenges than what is being witnessed, the Christian body said.

The President of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Henry Ojo, and Prophet Richard Kolawole of CAC Arogungbogunmi, Ibadan, said this on Sunday during the 26th-anniversary celebration of the CAC Arogungbogunmi International.

Ojo said, “As we are drawing close to the general election, we should pray for a man after God’s heart as president. In the same vein, I want to appeal to Nigerians to be more prayerful on the issue of insecurity. We had passed through a worse situations than this in Nigeria before but through prayers, God gave the country victory. With prayer, everything is possible.

“The Federal Government had explored different means but to no avail. However, with God, everything shall be alright.”

On the Muslim-Muslim ticket by the ruling party, he said, “Naturally, the choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket is not palatable with the condition we find ourselves in Nigeria today because Nigerians no longer believe in the unity of this country anymore. Religion and tribe have divided us. I believe that since we have two major religions in Nigeria, they should consider Christians.

“But, the choice is ours. We should have PVC. We know (parties) that have Christian-Muslim tickets. After we have prayed for the will of God to be done, the choice is ours. Nigerians are those who will decide who will be there. There is no need to argue or fight. The more we fight, the more enmity we cause.”

Prophet Kolawole, who is the host, said, “My message for Nigerians is that we should pray very fervently because Nigeria is at crossroads. Nigeria is in a state of confusion. What we need now is to pray that God should give us direction, not for a party and not for a candidate. The people should ask God about what to do next.

“We said that it is the turn of the South to govern but the North also came in. When we sorted the issue of the Southern president the Muslim Muslim ticket cropped up. We need divine direction on what is next. This is a secular nation, with the strive being created as a result of religion, we need Christian-Muslim ticket.”
