Sikiru Ayinde, who was kidnapped on Monday, July 18, 2022, has been released, according to the Osun State Police Command.

On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, around 9:30 p.m., Ayinde was freed after being abducted as he made his way through Ifewara town to deliver bread to his clients.

Sources claim that the victim’s captors demanded a N5 million ransom from the victim’s community in order for them to release him.

The source suggested that after the community was unable to provide the N5 million ransom demanded by the kidnappers, they were able to reduce the amount to N150,000, which was made available prior to Ayinde’s release.
