Ahead of the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in Birmingham in 2022, Nnamdi Innocent and Blessing Oborodudu have been named Team Nigeria’s captains.
Innocent is one of the leading men’s powerlifters in the team.
Oborodudu, a well-known female wrestler, won a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia’s Gold Coast.
She was also awarded a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The flagbearers for Team Nigeria at opening ceremony are: Nnamdi Chinecherem Prosper and veteran women powerlifter, Oluwafemiayo Folashade.
The opening ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games will hold at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, United Kingdom on Thursday (today).
