To commemorate the start of the 1445 Islamic (Hijrah) New Year, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has declared Monday, August 1, 2022, a work-free day.
This was stated in a press release given to journalists in Kano and signed by the information commissioner, Malam Muhammad Garba.
The Governor congratulated all Muslims ummah for the beginning of the new Islamic calendar.
He, however, urged Muslims to use the break to pray for Allah’s forgiveness and His intervention to rescue the country from the lingering security challenges.
Governor Ganduje also assured of his administration’s readiness to continue improving the lives of its citizens.
