Driver of a trailer with no registration number has crushed a motorcycle rider to death on the Ihiala-Owerri Expressway, Anambra State.

The accident, which happened on Sunday opposite Basco Hotel late involved three persons but only the motorcyclist died.

According to PUNCH, an eyewitness said the driver of the trailer, who was on top speed, lost control, hit and crushed the motorcyclist beyond recognition and did not stop.

The source said, “An unidentified driver of a trailer with no registration number and a Sayang 100 Motorcycle with no registration number were involved in a fatal road traffic crash today July 31, 2022 at about 16:45hrs.

“The probable cause of the crash was the loss of control as a result of excessive speed.”

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, rescue team from Ihiala, packed the remains of the dead victim in the body bag and deposited it at our Lady of Lourdes mortuary, Ihialla, and cleared all the obstructions.

The Sector Commander Anambra State, Corps Commander, Adeoye Irelewuyi, while confirming the incident, commiserated with the family of the dead victim.

Irelewuyi warned motorists to avoid speeding and ensure they keep to the recommended speed limit.

“Speed drills but kills check your speed and not your watch. Let us keep our road safe from a crash,” he warned.
