Dean Jones, a transfer insider, has revealed why Chelsea wants to sign Barcelona striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.
Chelsea want Aubameyang because they want players of a certain calibre, according to Jones.
This summer, Aubameyang, 33, has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
During their time at Dortmund, the former Arsenal captain worked under Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea are currently without a top striker after allowing Romelu Lukaku to join Inter Milan on loan earlier this year after the Belgian international underperformed in the Premier League.
“They [Chelsea] are interested in Aubameyang because they want players of a certain level and there’s not many out there.
“You look at the way Barcelona’s frontline is shaping up and there would be some reason to believe that he might be available,” Jones told GiveMeSport.
