The Falconets returned to Nigeria in the early hours of Thursday following their ouster from the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohamed Sanusi and representative of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Toyin Ibitoye received the team on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Recall that NFF on getting a report that the players and their officials were stranded at the Istanbul Airport had dismissed the rumour, explaining that they were only delayed at the Airport as a result of their inability to secure transit visas.

They were also delayed for more than three hours in Bogota, Colombia and one hour in Panama.
